Singapore container throughput inches up in July
Singapore port’s container volumes have inched up in July compared to the year-ago period, according to preliminary estimates from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Container throughput last month was recorded at 2.57m teu, marginally up by 0.8% from 2.55m teu in July 2015, MPA data showed.

On a month-on-month comparison, July volumes declined by 1.2% from 2.6m teu seen in June.

From January to July this year, Singapore port throughput came up to a total of 17.76m teu, down 4.3% compared to 18.55m teu in the same period of 2015.
