Singapore container volumes decline in April
Singapore’s container throughput dipped in April both on a year-on-year and month-on-month comparison, according to preliminary estimates by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

April’s box volumes were recorded at 2.63m teu, dropping 5.7% from 2.79m teu registered in the same month of 2014, data from MPA showed.

Last month’s throughput also dropped 4% compared to 2.74m teu seen in March this year.

From January to April 2015, Singapore port moved a total throughput of 10.76m teu, inching up 0.3% compared to 10.73m teu handled in the previous corresponding period.
