Singapore port handles reduced box volumes in February
The port of Singapore has moved lower container throughput in February compared to the year-ago figure, according to preliminary estimates from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Singapore handled box volumes of 2.3m teu in February 2017, down 3.4% from 2.38m teu posted in February 2016, MPA data showed.

Container throughput last month also declined compared to 2.62m teu recorded in January this year.

In the first two months of 2017, Singapore port posted a total throughput of 4.92m teu, an increase of 1% compared to 4.87m teu registered in the previous corresponding period.
