April's throughput was recorded at 2.63m teu, up 1.2% from 2.6m teu in the same month of last year, according to preliminary estimates from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
Month-on-month, volumes dipped from 2.64m teu seen in March, MPA data showed.
In the first four months of this year, Singapore handled a total of 10.26m teu, an increase of 1.2% from 10.14m teu in the corresponding period of 2012.
