Singapore's July box volumes rise to 2.95m teu
The port of Singapore saw its container handling volumes hit the highest this year in July with throughput at 2.95m teu, according to preliminary estimates by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Last month's volumes improved by 6.6% compared to 2.77m teu recorded in July 2012, figures from MPA showed.

Throughput also rose 8.3% month-on-month from 2.73m teu seen in June.

In the first seven months of this year, Singapore moved a total of 18.77m teu, up 1.9% from 18.41m teu posted in the same period of last year.
