SITC volume up but on lower rates in first nine months
Container line SITC International Holdings saw total volume rise 4.5% to 1.7m teu in  the first nine months compared to 1.6m teu in the previous corresponding period.

Typically however this came at the cost of average freight rate which fell 7.4% to $389.8 per teu from $420.9 per teu previously, the company said in a press release.

As a result, revenue fell 9.3% from $974.3m previously to $883.9m in the first nine months of 2016.
