A passing Chinese vessel, Jin Cheng, rescued ten from two life rafts 22 miles off Cape Bolinao, one of whom, chief cook Myint Aung, later died. The Philippine Coast Guard have subsequently brought the nine survivors ashore at Sual, taking the two injured to a local medical facility.
