Kaohsiung: Taiwan's main port Kaohsiung posted a month-on-month increase in container throughput in October.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong's container throughput continued sliding in October, with overall volumes falling 9.9% to 1.9m teu from 2.1m teu in October 2011.

Qingdao: Annual container throughput of Maersk Line at China's Qingdao port has for the first time crossed 1m teu, making the shipping line the first carrier to achieve such a substantial volume within a year at the port.

Xiamen: The Port of Xiamen saw container volume rise 10.7% in the first nine months of the year to 5.1m teu, while overall cargo went up 7.4% to 126m tonnes.

Singapore: The port of Singapore, the world's second busiest container port, recorded higher box throughput in October with 2.68m teu.

Shanghai: Shanghai, the world's busiest container port, recorded a year-on-year increase in throughput in October but volumes dipped compared to the previous month.

Manila: International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) nine month profits edged up 4% to $101.4m.

Qingdao: The port of Qingdao recorded a container throughput of 10.88m teu from January to September 2012, up 11% year on year, according to local news reports.

Singapore: Container throughput in September at the port of Singapore rose 8.3% year-on-year to 2.61m teu, according to figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Jakarta: Indonesian state port operator Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Pelindo II) is reportedly preparing its logistics, container terminals and multipurpose terminals subsidiary, Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI), for an initial public offering to raise IDR300bn ($31 million) in the second half of 2013.
