International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) has celebrated the completion of Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) in Webb Dock in Melbourne, Australia ahead of schedule.

Australia’s state of Victoria has inked a AUD9.7bn ($7.3bn) deal to sell its 50-year lease on the port of Melbourne to the Lonsdale Consortium, so as to use the proceeds to remove 50 congested level crossings and to create thousands of jobs.

A subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has donated AUD150,000 ($116,000) to Australia’s Albert Park College to fund a new marine research centre.

Melbourne International ro-ro Automotive Terminal (MIRRAT), a subsidiary of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), has won a bid to develop an automotive RoRo terminal in Webb Dock West at the Port of Melbourne.
