The newbuildings are scheduled to be delivered on 28 February 2017, according to an announcement by Kouan Shipbuilding on its website. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The ships will be classed by China Classification Society (CCS).
The Chinese shipbuilder said it has in recent years widened its product offerings to include boxships with capacity ranging from 1,000 teu to 4,350 teu, as well as dry bulk carriers, multi-purpose vessels and heavylift vessels.
