Three bodies found near wreck of Thorco Cloud

Three bodies have been found near the wreck of the Thorco Cloud, one of which is confirmed as one of the six missing crew members.

The Thorco Cloud sank on the evening of 16 December when it collided with the chemical tanker Stolt Commitment in Indonesian waters. Six crew were rescued in the incident, while six were missing after the vessel went down.

Thorco Shipping said that over Christmas period rescuers had found three lifeless bodies had been recovered close to wreck of the vessel. One of the bodies was confirmed to be one of the missing crew the company said.

DNA samples and personal records have been forwarded to the authorities to affirm the identity of the other two recovered, and if they are related to Thorco Cloud. The search for the remaining missing crew members continues unabated, as well as the authorities’ investigation,” Thorco Shipping said.
