U-Ming takes capesize plunge in China
Taipei: U-Ming Marine Transport Corp has moved ahead with its newbuilding plans ordering up to 10 capesize bulkers in China.

The Taiwanese owner has placed firm orders for four 186,300 dwt capesize bulkers and options for six more at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co. The vessels will be owned by U-Ming’s Singapore shipowning arm and are priced at $49.83m each. The vessels are due to start delivering in 2014.
In August last year U-Ming president CK Ong told Seatrade Asia Week that the company planned to order up to eight bulker to capitalise on attractive prices.
