The PSV, of Vard's own PSV 06 LNG design, is slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2015 from Vard Aukra in Norway. The hull will be delivered from Vard in Romania.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The vessel will be an environmentally friendly dual-fuel LNG/diesel-electric ship with focus on low fuel consumption and low emissions of greenhouse gases, according to Vard.
The shipbuilder added that the vessel is expected to support operations in the Goliat oil and gas field in the Barents Sea.
Vard, listed on the Singapore Exchange, is majority owned by Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri.
