Yet another Singapore bunker supplier loses bunkering licence

Yet another Singapore bunker supplier loses bunkering licence
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) continues to clamp down hard on the government-licensed bunker suppliers in Singapore as yet another loses its bunkering licence, making it the third such case so far this year.

Singapore-established Palmstone Petroleum was found to have breached a clause of the terms and conditions of the bunker supplier licence by allowing another company to use its Bunker Delivery Notes (BDNs) to supply bunkers to customers of that other company, according to MPA.

With the cancellation of its bunker supplier licence, Palmstone Petroleum is no longer allowed to operate as a bunker supplier in Singapore port effective from 8 July.

The Singapore firm, however, will continue to have a presence in the market as its affiliated companies, Palmstone Marine Services and Palmstone Tankers & Trading, remain as licensed bunker suppliers.

Over the past two weeks, former bunker suppliers Coast-Channels Marine Services and Golden Lights HS Bunkering also lost their bunkering licences for the same reason.

In June 2012, MPA revoked the bunker supplier licence of Winbuild Petrofin for the same reason as well.

As at 8 July, MPA listed 68 licensed bunker suppliers in Singapore.
