Shipping container village and brew pub

Old shipping containers are increasingly finding alternative uses such lows cost housing once they have finished transporting cargo across the world's oceans.

The latest example we have come across is just over the river from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne's quayside in Gateshead. The Gateshead container village comprises rusted old shipping containers that have been transformed into a brew pub, By The River Brew, and a number of other eateries.

On weekends it sees a hawker market, HWKRMRKT, with a wide variety of food stalls in an alley made up of shipping containers, including Gateshead's first vegan eatery the Grumpy Panda.
