None of the vessel's nine crew have been reported as injured, and the vessel is being attended by the Tobermory RNLI lifeboat.
The vessel was en route from Belfast to Skogn in Norway when it grounded, has not since refloated at high tide, necessitating tugs to pull it free.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has dispatched emergency towing vessel Heracles from the Orkneys, while the vessel's owners have appointed a salvage company and a commercial tug. No pollution has so far been reported.
