The 2009 Korean-built carrier was first acquired by GOGL’s jv partner in May 2013, and delivered the following month. “The Company is of the opinion that there is still some upside potential in asset values compared to the fair price the strategic partner has offered Golden Ocean,” said GOGL in a statement.
GOGL has stated its intention to “increase its exposure” to the capesize sector. The vessel is expected to generate revenue by the end of the quarter.
