Hoegh Osaka berths at Southampton

Car carrier Hoegh Osaka, which was deliberately beached in the Solent after developing a list en route to Germany, has been towed into Southampton port.

After 19 days stranded, the vessel was finally towed in to Berth 101 by three tugs, with its list reduced to five degrees. More than 3,000 tonnes of water had been pumped out of the vessel.

The Marine Accident and Investigation Branch (MAIB) will now investigate the reason for the vessel's listing.
