The details of the deal are still being finalised, but Imtech is being taken on as a whole and will continue its operations independently, according to the company.
Imtech and its new owners are claiming the takeover is good news for the company's growth prospects. Imtech currently has 2,500 staff across 30 countries supporting its tailored technology solutions for vessels.
René ten Brinke, director of global services at Imtech Marine said: “We are extremely happy with Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital as the new ‘owners’ of Imtech Marine. Both are highly professional companies, with extensive experience in the maritime industry, it couldn’t have been a better scenario for us.”
Both investors have experience in the maritime sector, Pon Holdings has a number of companies in the offshore and marine markets supplying engines, transmissions and other systems, while Parcom Capital has existing investments in the marine and transportation sectors.
