ISO makes new standards for wind farm support
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has released requirements and guidance for port and marine operations relating to the maintenance of wind farms.

Developed by ISO technical committee ISO/TC 8, covering Ships and marine technology, ISO 29400:2015 is a series of six standards, designed to achieve reliability in operations supporting offshore wind.

The standards include specifications for personnel transfer systems, information flow, and work and living conditions offshore.

“The objective of these standards is to ensure port and marine operations are carried out within defined safety and reliability levels, no matter where they are in the world, providing confidence but not hindering innovation,” said Captain Charles H. Piersall, retired US naval officer and chairman of ISO/TC 8.
