LR ceo Alastair Marsh said he welcomed Boardley "taking on a wider role for the group, applying his expertise and experience from the marine sector to broader industries and markets. The world is becoming more complicated and we have to be ready for the challenges we face now and those that have yet to be defined. We are organising our business to make sure that we have the capability to meet whatever challenges emerge."
Brown, who began his career with LR 20 years ago as a graduate trainee, will be responsible for managing not only LR’s marine business but also its energy compliance business, reflecting an additional expansion in the role.
“We will continue to evolve our classification and compliance business as both regulatory and commercial pressure increases across the marine and offshore industries,” he said. "Shipping and energy remain vital to society, but the challenges faced will require better connections with other sectors. This is where the broader potential of the LR group can make a positive impact.”
