It was reported that Maersk's management had told employees it would present an “organisational change” on 19 September.
The reorganisation announcement would come almost two years after Maersk Group announced a restructuring that saw it focusing on container shipping and logistics, with move to exit or spin-off energy related businesses. As a result Total has acquired Maersk Oil in a deal worth $7.45bn, while Maersk Tankers was tanker private by AP Moller Holdings for $1.17bn.
A solution has yet to be completed for Maersk Drilling.
