Sailing off the edge of the world

Sailing off the edge of the world
It has been a reasonably well-accepted fact over the last 400 years that the world is round.

However, at its press reception on Monday the Norwegian Shipowners Association (NSA) had cube shaped globe in the shape of the Rubik’s Cube.

Displayed with the NSA’s “Navigating in a new climate” a cubic globe would certainly make navigating a challenge.

With sharp edges vessels could quite literally sail off the edge of the world. Should someone try and solve the cube destinations could suddenly move from one side to another making voyage planning unusually complex. If the cube is a metaphor for “Navigating the new climate” the way ahead could prove to be very complex indeed.
