"The Coastguard made a decision this morning that the search will not be resumed," a spokesperson for the company told Seatrade Global.
"We have arrived at what is obviously a very difficult point, where our focus will now be on supporting the families of the crew as much as possible." The search for the crew of seven Polish seafarers and one Filipino national involved RNLI lifeboats, a helicopter, Coastguard rescue teams, fixed wing aircraft and the HMS Somerset.
"We will also be assisting the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) and flag state in their investigations, as well as conducting our own investigation as a company."
The company also confirmed that an inflatable craft washed up on the Orkney Islands, mistakenly identified by local media as a life raft, was not related to the Cemfjord.
