Global Ports Investments (GPI) has announced it will acquire major Russian terminal operator NCC Group.

Despite an operating profit of $12.4m for the second quarter, Sovcomflot (SCF) has reported a net loss of $16.4m, compared to a $5.5m profit for the same period last year.

North Atlantic Drilling (NADL) and its 74% shareholder Seadrill have announced a preliminary agreement for a strategic partnership with an unnamed, experienced Arctic operator with a strong foothold in the Russian market, to expand NADL's harsh environment business.

Net profit at Russian tanker outfit Sovcomflot dropped 95.6% year on year from $45.4m in the first quarter 2012 to $2m in the same period 2013.

St. Petersburg: Net profit at Russian state owned OAO Sovcomflot (SCF) fell 38.2% to $33.2m in 2012 from $53.7m in 2011.
