Vard bags offshore tug newbuild contract

The vessel for Norwegian owner Buksér og Berging will be built at Vard Bralia in Romania and is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2015. The vessel developed by its owners will have a bollard pull of approximately 115 tonnes.

“We welcome our new customer Buksér og Berging to Vard, and we look forward to cooperating with their team. Our shipyard in Braila has a long shipbuilding tradition going back many decades,” said Roy Reite, ceo and executive director of Vard.

Previously known as STX OSV, prior to Fincantieri taking a majority stake in the offshore vessel builder, Vard is listed on the Singapore Exchange.
