The 16,000-tonne Russian cargo ship Kuzma Minin grounded off Falmouth in the UK in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The Maritime Coastguard Authority (MCA) has declared a “major incident” with the ship listing at five degrees after it grounded at 0540 hrs. There are no reports of pollution or injury to the crew members onboard the vessel.

The authorities were going to attempt to refloat the vessel with the aid of three tugs this afternoon.
