The agreement, signed by WTS HVAC Offshore managing director Helle Hundseid and Roccheggiani ceo Marco Roccheggiani, will run for an initial period of three years, during which time Roccheggiani, a supplier of air handling units, fan coil units and supply/extract devices, hopes that the deal will increase its exposure to the offshore market. Meanwhile WTS believes the co-operation agreement will increase its level of service supply and reduce delivery times for customers.
“Maintaining a strong position in the HVAC market requires us to deliver better solutions and superior products and service, while being able to keep control of costs for our customers,” said Stephen Lawton, Sales Director, HVAC Offshore, Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions. “Developing a closer co-operation… [with] Roccheggiani means we can combine our skills and experience to reach those common goals.”
“Client and shipyard specifications increasingly require that air handling units are custom-made. The agreement with Roccheggiani means our two companies can work together to develop more flexible and competitive solutions tailored for a range of operating environments.”
The deal follows a successful co-operative contract in 2012, supplying a semi-sub Odfjell drillship under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.
