US dockworkers dispute takes fries of the menu at KFC in Japan
The US West Coast dockworker dispute has further limited the options Japanese fast food customers seeking to fries with their meal.

Last December MacDonald’s started only selling small portions of French fries due to a shortage of imports from the US and now KFC in the country has stopped selling them altogether.

“Due to the prolonged dockworkers’ disputes on the United States West Coast, it has become difficult to secure stable supplies of potatoes,” the firm said in a statement on Thursday. “The company will halt the sales of potatoes temporarily until a stable supply becomes available.”

It is not clear if it also hit one KFC’s other main carbohydrate offerings – mashed potato.
