The bottles, transported in a reefer container, were selected by the “Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin”, a guild celebrating its 80 anniversary this year, and will be received by an equivalent order. The 420 bottles include the Burgundy wines: Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé tasteviné, Saint-Aubin 2010 tasteviné, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru les Saint-Georges Hospices de Nuits 2007 and Corton Renardes Grand Cru 2007 tasteviné.
The wines were loaded into the container on 7 June and left France shipboard bound for Sydney via the Panama Canal on 14 June. The container will leave on its return voyage on 28 July onboard the CMA CGM Azure, which will sail back to France via Southeast Asia and the Suez Canal arriving in France on 18 September.
During a Gala dinner on 25 October at the Château du Clos de Vougeot Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin will organise a wine tasting of the same wines stored in the cellar as have been shipped around the world.
