Maher took up the post in ASRY’s newly restructured ship repair division on 4 January this year.
A South African-national Maher has over 15 years experience in the sector working with Dormac Marine & Engineering, Grand Bahamas Shipyard, and Southern African Shipyards.
“This new addition to the senior management team,” commented ASRY chief executive, Nils Kristian Berge, “will not only carefully pass on ASRY’s client portfolio to fresh hands, but will also inject a new energy and vitality into the process of attracting new customers.”
Maher’s appointment overlaps with outgoing ship repair division gm Magdy Sharkawy who is retiring next month.
