President Widodo visits DP World’s Jebel Ali
Indonesian President Joko Widodo, on a trip to the region to visit Saudi Arabia in the aftermath of the crane collapse tragedy in Mecca, in which 10 Indonesians are believed to have died, took in a trip to DP World flagship Jebel Ali Port in Dubai this week with a delegation of Ministers.

Dubai's trade with Indonesia totalled $1.07bn in the first half of 2015, said DP World chairman, Sultan bin Sulayem.

Widodo met senior DP World officials, including bin Sulayem, vice chairman Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, and svp and md, UAE Region, Mohammed Al Muallem.

“DP World is a long-time partner of the Indonesian government through their joint venture in PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), the largest terminal in Surabaya Tanjung Perak and the second largest in the country," said bin Sulayem.

DP World has managed PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) terminal on the Madura Strait in East Java, a joint venture with 51% of shares held by state-owned company Pelabuhan Pelindo III and 49% held by DP World, after acquiring P&O in 2006.

The Indonesian origin and destination cargo container terminal has a 1.8m teu capacity and an annual throughput of 1.4m teu, DP World said.
