Rajalingham to take helm at MISC as Yee retires

Capt Rajalingam Subramaniam is set to take over the helm at Malaysian shipowner MISC when Datuk Yee Yang Chien retires later this year.

Datuk Yee, Group President & CEO of MISC has opted to retire on 1 October this year after a 20 year career with the company. Capt Rajalingham current COO of MISC and President & CEO of AET, will assume the role of Group President & CEO of MISC on 1 October.

Datuk Yee has served in the top role at MISC since 2015 and during his time with the company played a key role in MISC’s acquisition of AET, the formation of services provider Eaglestar, spearheaded an early adoption of LNG as marine fuel, and more recently the development of zero-emission fuels such as ammonia through the Castor Initiative.

Datuk Yee said: “It has been a great honour for me to be given the responsibility to lead MISC Group back in 2015. It is more than a job or duty for me, but rather, it has been a personal mission, together with the great leaders and colleagues in the Group, to build a Malaysian global champion in the international maritime arena. We achieved many firsts together, such as the world first’s LNG dual-fuel Aframaxes and VLCCs in addition to the various awards and accolades that the Group has garnered over the past years.”=
