According to the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) an engine room fire on 26,234 dwt, 2011-built, tanker was reported at 10:30 am local time on 21 October.
Malta-flagged vessel was within Singapore waters in the East Johor Straits which separates the Republic from Peninsula Malaysia when the fire broke out.
The MPA said it had deployed a patrol craft, along with two Police Coast Guard craft, three Singapore Civil Defence Force marine firefighting and rescue vessels, and two tug-boats to render assistance to the tanker and ensure navigational safety.
All 22 crew were reported safe and to have disembarked the vessel with no injuries.
MPA said there had been no disruption to traffic in the area.
According to Equasis the Med Atlantic is owned and managed by Sea Tankers 4 in Valletta, Malta.
