Polaris ceo and four others face arrest warrants over Stellar Daisy sinking

In addition to Kim, the other four people for who arrest warrants were sought were the head of maritime affairs at Polaris Shipping, an inspector of Korean Register of Shipping (KR), and two persons of a private inspection company responsible for inspecting the hull thickness of Stellar Daisy.

The charges pressed against the five people are illegal modification of vessel for Polaris Shipping, and forged document by the inspection company regarding thickness of the hull.

Criminal charges for sinking and abandoning the ship and involuntary manslaughter will be investigated after the completion of deepsea search by Ocean Infinity, contracted by the Korean government.

Stellar Daisy’s wreck is in an unknown location in the South Atlantic approximately 2,500 nm due east from Uruguay where it sank in April 2017 enroute Brazil to China.
