Container carrier APL will launch a new America Central America Caribbean (ACC) service connecting US East Coast to the Dominican Republic.

The weekly service will be characterised by its three-day and five-day transit time from the port of Miami to the Rio Haina and Caucedo ports in the Dominican Republic respectively.

The new service will also make a weekly port stop at Kingston in Jamaica to relay shipments that arrive onboard APL’s ACE (Asia Caribbean Express) service to the Latin American ports on rotation.

“Via the ACC service that will call Cartagena in Colombia, Latin American shippers will be able to access various Asian markets through APL’s Asia-Latin America services from there,” APL stated.

The ACC service will start sailing from Miami port on 23 August 2019. The port rotation will be Miami, Rio Haina, Caucedo, Kingston, Belize, Puerto Cortes, Puerto Barrios, Cartagena, and back to Miami.
