CH Offshore recoups $60m in unpaid charter fees from PDVSA subsidiaries
Singapore-based CH Offshore has claimed back $60m of outstanding vessel charter fees from the subsidiaries of Venezuela’s state oil firm PDVSA, after a legal proceeding spanning close to three years.

In October 2013, CH Offshore commenced legal proceedings in London against PDV Marina and Astilleros De Venezuela (Astivenca) for a claim relating to unpaid charter hire from the charter of the AHTS vessels the Amethyst and the Turquoise.

“The board of directors of the company is pleased to announce that the company and PDV Marina have reached a settlement in respect of the claim. PDV Marina has made payment of $60m to the company in full and final settlement of the claim without admission of liability,” CH Offshore said.

“The company has assigned to PDV Marina any claims it may have related to the claim against Astivenca,” it added.
