The two tankers will be used to transport petroleum products and derivatives, as announced by CCNI to Chile’s Superintendence of Securities and Insurance (SVS).
"The purchase is the result of a five-year contract awarded by Chile’s National Petroleum Company (Empresa Nacional del Petroleo -ENAP), to CCNI for transporting fuel between the ports of Chile. The ships will be chartered for a period of five years," CCNI said.
Last February, Hamburg Sud signed an agreement with CCNI to buy the Chilean company container business. The deal includes the related general agency functions of Agunsa Agencias Universales (Agunsa), with headquarters in Valparaiso and Santiago de Chile.
Otherwise, CCNI will continue its other operations in Chile.
