At the end of this second pre-emptive right period, which ended at 1700hrs 14 August, with the remaining shares were offered to those investors who had expressed their interest in subscribing new shares of the company.
The controlling group, Quinenco, subscribed to $176m worth during this capital increase process, raising its participation to 54.5% up from a previous 46%.The capitalisation was approved last march during a board meeting of shareholders. The proceeds will be used to complete the financing for the acquisition of seven new 9,300 teu vessels currently under construction and to fulfil certain conditions for the closing of a possible merger of the containership business of the Chilean company with the German company Hapag-Lloyd.
