Dolphin Drilling’s drillship contract terminated by Anadarko Petroleum

Dolphin Drilling’s drillship contract terminated by Anadarko Petroleum
Dolphin Drilling, subsidiary of Fred Olsen Energy, has received a termination for convenience notice from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in relation to a drillship charter contract.

“The termination will be effective at end-August 2017. The termination fee will be approximately $96m as per contract,” Dolphin Drilling stated. The reasons for the termination were not disclosed.

The drillship is the Bolette Dolphin, built in 2014 by South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.
