In a customer advisory Hapag-Lloyd alliance partner Ocean Network Express (ONE) said in customer advisory that operations to unload the distressed cargo at a facility in Freeport Bahamas were ongoing and were expected to take another weeks.
However, cargo that was undamaged in the fire onboard the vessel at the start of the year cannot be discharged at this facility, which is only for distressed cargo ONE said.
“Additionally, and while there is a containerized terminal berth in the vicinity, it appears among other considerations that at the moment such terminal may not have sufficient capacity for the sound cargo. Alternative options are currently being investigated” the customer advisory said.

The Yantian Express was hit by a fire starting in a single container, on 3 January in the Atlantic, the blaze spread to other boxes and the crew was forced to abandon the vessel with it taking a week to largely contain and bring the blaze under control.
