MHI bags another Astomos VLGC order

MHI bags another Astomos VLGC order
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has bagged an order for a fourth VLGC destined for charter by Astomos Energy Corp.

The 83,000 cu m vessel is the fourth sistership to ordered at MHI for Astomos and is designed for passage through the newly expanded Panama Canal.

The vessel will be time chartered to Astomos Energy by Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and owned by Kyoei Tanker. The VLGC is due for delivery in the second quarter of 2017 and will be built at MHI’s Nagasaki Shipyard.

Astomos Energy operates a fleet of 21 large LPG carriers.
