The charter agreement with EGC, subsidiary of E.ON, was made through a joint venture shipowning firm between MOL and Itochu Corporation.
The two membrane-type 179,900 cu m LNG carriers will start their charter period from 2018 for 20 years.
MOL will manage the two new ships, which will transport LNG from a shale gas liquefying plant in North America to Europe and other destinations globally.
EGC, the energy trading arm of E.ON, owns and operates a pipeline infrastructure business which supports gas supply and trading activities, and an unbundled gas storage business.
