NYK develops lubricity-improved anti-mould additive for 0.1% sulphur fuel

NYK develops lubricity-improved anti-mould additive for 0.1% sulphur fuel
NYK Group has developed a new oil additive, Yunic750LS-F, designed to increase lubricity and address mould in low-sulphur fuel following the January 2015 0.1% sulphur deadline.

The additive, developed by subsidiary Nippon Yuka Kogyo, lessens fuel-oil equipment problems associated with low-sulphur gas oil’s with low lubricity and viscosity, improving lubricity and thus preventing abnormal friction and coagulation of fuel in fuel-oil equipment.

In addition, Yunic750LS-F prevents mould, negating blockages in fuel systems caused by the growth of mould, and allowing fuel to be stored for a much longer period of time without succumbing to growth.

The product combines the two properties, despite them normally being associated with specific additives, allowing for reduced storage space and fewer dosage mistakes.
