Scorpio Bulkers in $300m private placement

Scorpio Bulkers in $300m private placement
Scorpio Bulkers is aiming to raise $300m through a private placement to partially fund its newbuilding programme.

Scorpio Bulkers is issuing 33.4m new shares priced at NOK53.50 via a private placement. The share issue will raise roughly $300m which the company said would be used to part fund a series of bulkers under construction and for general corporate purposes.

Scorpio Bulkers is an offshoot of Scorpio Tankers and was founded earlier this with firm orders for 11 ultramax bulkers in China, with options for a further three.
