The Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry (LISCR) has confirmed the rumours floating in the industry for some time, that Scott Bergeron quits the Liberian Registry.

Bergeron was for a long time the figure of the Liberian Registry he joined 19 years ago and his ceo since 2011. He spent all his career in the maritime industry.

The Registry in a short press release did not offer explication for the reasons of is departure, focusing on saying that “the Cohen family, in particular Adam Cohen and Elan Cohen, continue to lead the organisation as Executive Chairmen.”

LISCR, which is based in Virginia, US, announced that Alfonso Castillero has been elevated to the role of chief operating officer reporting directly to the Cohen family. Castillero was head of the Panama Ship Registry, the world largest register until 2014 when he joined the Liberian Registry.
