Sembmarine’s Brazil yard completes first vessel repair project
A first vessel repair project has been successfully completed by Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), a wholly-owned Brazilian subsidiary of Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine.

The 82,922-dwt bulk carrier Olympic Gemini, managed by Athens-based Springfield Shipping Company, left EJA on 12 May after a week of repair to her cargo hatch cover and renewal works on the main deck supporting foundations.

“We commend the EJA team for their fast turnaround, close collaboration and strong commitment in ensuring a successful repair operation despite the short notice and tight schedule,” said a representative of Springfield Shipping.

EJA is equipped with warehouse facilities, mechanical, piping and electrical workshops, a highly automated steel fabrication facility, as well as painting, blasting, pre-treatment and sub-assembly capabilities.

The yard also has capabilities to undertake the construction of drillships, semi-submersible and jack-up rigs, platforms and supply vessels, as well as FPSO integration and topside modules fabrication.
