Zim restructuring on mainline trades
Israel’s Zim Line has started to unveil a major restructuring of its network on the mainline trades reflecting its independent nature outside of the major alliances.

The new network to be introduced from April next year, which coincides with the start of to new major alliances the Ocean Alliance and THE Alliance, focusing on trades where the line says it has a strong position.

On the transpacific trade Zim is going to introduce a new service between Asia and the Pacific Northwest, which will replace its current North Pacific service from April next year.

Its Asia to US East Coast service via the Panama Canal will be upgrade and also offer major inland destinations.

The line said its Zim Seven Stars service, connecting South China, South East Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the US East Coast, would resume full activity after its winter programme in April 2017.

Zim is also restructuring is AME and EMX services on the Asia – East Mediterranean and Black Sea trade into new services which it says will keep its position as one of the leading lines on the trade.
