Mumbai: The Indian federal government has granted ABG Shipyard a subsidy of Rs12.80crore ($3.1m) for two of the company's yards. The company currently operates a yard in Surat (pictured) and will launch operations at a new yard in Dahej next month.
'We are also looking to open a third yard,' ABG Shipyard md Rishi Agarwal told SeatradeAsia-Online. 'We are currently looking at locations, but it will most likely be in Gujarat like the other two yards.' The company currently boasts an orderbook worth over $2bn. [20/03/08]
