ABG Shipyard selects MAN Diesel engines

Mumbai: ABG Shipyard in Gujarat has placed a significant order with MAN Diesel of Denmark and India for engines to power four new AHTS tugs.  The 75-metre anchor handling tug supply vessels and specified to deliver a bollard pull of around 200 tonnes and are designed by Singapore-based SeaTech Solutions International. The propulsion solution for each vessel is based around four MAN Diesel type 8L27/38 medium-speed  main engines. Leon Andersen, md of MAN Diesel India, said the order from such a "dynamic" customer as ABG Shipyard marked a welcome step forward for his company into the "very promising Indian offshore and shipbuilding industry."
